A Little about Me (Mee-kah, Meeks) Mieke

I am a 31 year old WAHM (Work at home Mom) of 4 beautiful kids. And Wife to my amazing Husband Jim.

I have sold Major Dept. Store Brand Cosmetics and Fragrances, Small store Bath & Body Products, and Catalogue Sale Cosmetics and Fragrances. Putting in a total of almost 5 years behind "the counter"! It was my dream job! I would stand there in awe and think to myself, "I can't believe that they are paying me to do this! I am having so much fun I should be paying them!"

Being a Stay at Home Mom is very important to me. I love being with my babies, experiencing every first, being there for every cough and every giggle. But at the same time, I missed the excitement of the products, the rush of a good sale, the feeling I would get when a woman walked away from my counter with her head held a little bit higher then when she walked in.

Because, When you look good and smell good you feel good.

I decided I needed a hobby. After hundreds of dollars spent on everything from scrap booking, sewing and quilting to painting, I still didn't have something that I just loved doing. Until the summer of 2002, when I came across a web site that had soaps recipes and the ingredients to make them.

I had noticed on the same web site a recipe for handmade body lotion. It wasn't so much a recipe as it was a guideline for making them.

My first acceptable batch of Lotions by Mieke Natale was ready to give to my Guinea Pigs...er I mean Friends and Family for Christmas Presents!

Success! They loved it, loved the bottles, loved the fragrances, gave them away as gifts. They even sold them for me!

Spring of 2003 I joined the local Farmers Market here in my little town of Barre Mass.

I have been amazingly blessed. I have 3 beautiful healthy children. A wonderful and supportive Husband. I am able to stay at home with my babies, and all of this while watching my dreams for my Little Business come true.

My role Model? Estee Lauder of course! She was an amazing woman. She started her company in her Garage. And look at it now! What do I have to say to that? "Look out Estee, here comes Mieke!!!!!"
